Gyroid

Gyroid

A coding agent for iPhone with a real Linux inside.

Features

The agent

  • Several chats at once, each with its own model, system prompt and working folder.
  • Permission modes per chat: Auto, Accept Edits or No Restrictions.
  • File changes as diffs.
  • Your own MCP servers, prompt templates and compaction settings.
  • Your provider and your keys: Anthropic, any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, OpenCode Go and Zen.
  • Split view on iPhone Duo.

The Linux

  • gyroid-vm, our own aarch64 Linux engine.
  • Alpine and Debian support.
  • Python with pip and venv, Node.js with npm, git and curl over HTTPS, gcc on Debian.
  • SQLite, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Redis and Valkey.
  • pandoc, ffmpeg, ImageMagick, tesseract and headless LibreOffice.
  • zip, 7-Zip and tar with gzip, xz and zstd.

Fast where it counts

An agent rarely runs one long program. It runs hundreds of short ones, like ls, git status, grep, a test or a package install, and each of those forks, execs and makes a pile of stat and open calls. We rebuilt that path first, and it's where gyroid-vm is furthest ahead of iSH-AOK. Fewer CPU seconds per command means a task finishes sooner and uses less battery.
